Contribute to local charities to enhance the quality of life for everyone in our community of Muscatine.

Muscatine Charities, Inc. was established in 1999 to more efficiently raise and distribute money to charities in our community. To date, MCI has raised and distributed over $1.3 Million directly to local charitable endeavors.

By consolidating several individual fund raising efforts and researching their need for capital, we were able to substantially reduce expenses and make sure the money would be used to enhance the quality of life in our communities.

One such endeavor that is quickly becoming the hallmark of MCI is the MCI Preschool Scholarship program. A growing body of university research suggests that children coming from at-risk or low-income families perform better in K-12 classrooms and have lower dropout rates when they first attend preschool. The MCI Board works through the Preschool Education Professionals of Muscatine County to identify and offer assistance to families needing help sending their children to preschool. Last year the Muscatine Preschool Scholarship program helped 1000 children. 

100% of all donations go to local charities. MCI is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Corporation.
